Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Setadeal (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal data when you use this website: the job board, our corporate events services, supplier registration, the contact form and the Setadeal Assistant.

1. What we collect

• Account data — your name, e-mail address and password (stored only as a secure hash).
• Jobseeker profiles — headline, location, phone, summary, skills, qualifications, certifications, education, experience and job preferences you enter.
• Employer profiles and job posts — company details and the jobs you publish.
• Applications — the job you apply to, your cover letter, the match score and the application status.
• Supplier registrations — company and contact details, credentials and any document you upload.
• Messages — what you send through the contact and event enquiry form.
• Assistant chats — the questions you type are processed to answer them; we keep only an anonymous, hashed counter of your IP address for one minute to limit abuse.
• Technical data — standard server logs and a security check (Cloudflare Turnstile) on public forms to stop spam and bots.

2. Why we use it

• To run your account and show you jobs that match your profile.
• To let employers review applications, and — only if you tick “Open to work” — see your profile among matched candidates.
• To review supplier registrations and contact approved suppliers about events.
• To reply to your messages and prepare event proposals.
• To keep the site secure and prevent spam and misuse.

We use your data on the basis of your consent, to take steps you request (such as applying for a job), and our legitimate interest in running a secure service.

3. Who can see it

Employers see the profile, e-mail and phone of jobseekers who apply to their jobs, and the profile (without contact details) of jobseekers who are open to work and match their jobs. Our team sees supplier registrations and messages. We use trusted service providers for hosting, e-mail, file storage, the security check and the AI assistant; they process data only on our instructions. We never sell your data.

4. How long we keep it

Account, profile and application data stay while your account is active. Supplier registrations and messages are kept for as long as needed to handle them and our working relationship. You can delete your account at any time from your account page, which removes your profiles and applications.

5. Your rights

You may ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it. Edit your profile from your dashboard at any time, or send a request through our contact form. You may also complain to your local data protection authority (in Kenya, the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner).

6. Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to run the security check. We do not use advertising cookies.

7. Changes

We may update this policy; the date at the top shows the latest version.
